Pamela Tarry, Director
Mrs. Tarry has been the director of Wesleyan since 2005. Prior to coming to Wesleyan she worked in the Bayport-Blue Point School District where she taught Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades for 34 years. Her two children, Matthew and Juliana attended Wesleyan in the 1990's. Mrs. Tarry graduated from Molloy College and received her Master's Degree in reading from the University of Nevada, Reno. In addition, she has over 60 post graduate credits in early childhood education and special education. Mrs. Tarry enjoys cooking, yoga, snow shoeing, and bicycle riding with her family. She has ridden across New York State twice.
Linda Ward, Teacher
Mrs. Ward teaches 4 year olds and has been a member of the Wesleyan Staff since 1978. She also taught in the Sachem School District. She graduated from SUNY Fredonia and did her graduate work at CW Post College and Dowling College. She is a very enthusiastic teacher and just loves her job. Her 3 children, now grown, all attended Wesleyan. Mrs. Ward is a proud grandmother of two grandsons.
Carolyn Grayson, Teacher
Mrs. Grayson teaches 2 & 4 year olds She has been at Wesleyan since 2007. She graduated from Long Island University and received a master's in Speech and Language Pathology and Audiology from Hofstra University. Mrs. Grayson also studied educational administration at Brooklyn College. Prior to having a family Mrs. Grayson worked at St. Francis de Sales School for the Deaf in Brooklyn and is fluent in American Sign Language. Mrs. Grayson has two children who are Wesleyan School graduates. She is also a fire fighter with the St. James Fire Department.
Sherry Schmidt, Teacher
Mrs. Schmidt teaches 2's, & 3's, however she has previously taught all ages. She has been at Wesleyan since 1994. Prior to that she taught at several other local preschools. She graduated from Suffolk Community College and St Joseph's College. She has 3 daughters who attended Wesleyan. She also has a granddaughter who she sees a lot as she resides in Smithtown.
Catherine Safranek, Teacher
Mrs. Safranek (Miss Cathy) teaches 3's and has been at Wesleyan since 2011. She graduated from St. John's University and received a dual master degree in reading and special education. Prior to working at Wesleyan Mrs. Safranek taught special education, 1st grade and 7th grade at a catholic school. Mrs. Safranek has 3 children, 1 in graduate school and 2 in college. Miss Cathy keeps herself fit by walking and going to the gym. She will often walk for miles.
Tracy Truncale, Teacher
Mrs. Truncale started at Wesleyan in 2003 after her son and daughter attended Wesleyan. She graduated from SUNY Farmingdale and SUNY Oneonta. She received her Master's degree from SUNY Stony Brook. Prior to coming to Wesleyan, Mrs. Truncale worked with preschoolers at the Leeway School in Sayville and did substitute teaching. She now teaches our five day 4's. She has two children, one in high school and one in college.
Debbie Bauer, Teacher Aide
Debbie has been at Wesleyan since 2011. She is a member of Smithtown United Methodist Church where she has been the Sunday school superintendent and director of vacation bible school. Debbie's children also attended Wesleyan School. She is active in both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
Donna Dabrowski, Teacher Aide and 2yr old class teacher
Mrs. D'Abrowski has worked at Wesleyan since 2007. She has 2 children who are Wesleyan School graduates and attend Smithtown schools. Donna graduated from Queens College with a degree in accounting. She worked in accounting until she had her family. We are pleased to welcome Donna to our teaching staff. Donna has substituted at Wesleyan and works as an aide. She also helps prepare projects and assist the teachers. Donna has taught dance at a dance studio in Setauket for the past 20 years and also is a very talented dancer. She is currently pursuing graduate classes in education.
Jennifer Romano, Teacher Aide
Jennifer has worked as a teacher aide at Wesleyan since 2012. She also works here at the church as a recreation assistant in our Parkinson Therapy Center. She has three daughters who attended Wesleyan. Jennifer graduated from Suffolk Community College and Katherine Gibbs. Jen is an aide in our two-year-old classes and helps prepare projects. She was kick line coach at Accompsett Middle school for many years. She has recently devoted her time to preparing her family for a move to Florida.
