Staff

Our teaching staff has a combined 171 years of teaching experience.

Tracy Truncale, Director

Mrs. Truncale began teaching at Wesleyan in 2003. She has taught the 2,3 and 4 year olds throughout the years. In 2018 she accepted the position of director. She received an associates degree in Early Childhood Education from SUNY Farmingdale, a bachelors degree in Elementary Education from SUNY Oneonta, and a masters degree in Elementary Education from SUNY Stony Brook. Mrs. Truncale has two children who attended Wesleyan preschool and are now college students. She enjoys traveling with her family, biking, swimming and yoga.

Linda Ward, Teacher

Mrs. Ward teaches 4 year olds and has been a member of the Wesleyan Staff since 1978. She also taught in the Sachem School District. She graduated from SUNY Fredonia and did her graduate work at CW Post College and Dowling College. She is a very enthusiastic teacher and just loves her job. Her 3 children, now grown, all attended Wesleyan. Mrs. Ward is a proud grandmother of two grandsons.

Carolyn Grayson, Teacher

Mrs. Grayson teaches 2 & 4 year olds She has been at Wesleyan since 2007. She graduated from Long Island University and received a master's in Speech and Language Pathology and Audiology from Hofstra University. Mrs. Grayson also studied educational administration at Brooklyn College. Prior to having a family Mrs. Grayson worked at St. Francis de Sales School for the Deaf in Brooklyn and is fluent in American Sign Language. Mrs. Grayson has two children who are Wesleyan School graduates. She is also a fire fighter with the St. James Fire Department.

Sherry Schmidt, Teacher

Mrs. Schmidt teaches 2's, & 3's, however she has previously taught all ages. She has been at Wesleyan since 1994. Prior to that she taught at several other local preschools. She graduated from Suffolk Community College and St Joseph's College. She has 3 daughters who attended Wesleyan. She also has a granddaughter who she sees a lot as she resides in Smithtown.

Catherine Safranek, Teacher

Mrs. Safranek (Miss Cathy) teaches 3's and has been at Wesleyan since 2011. She graduated from St. John's University and received a dual master degree in reading and special education. Prior to working at Wesleyan Mrs. Safranek taught special education, 1st grade and 7th grade at a catholic school. Mrs. Safranek has 3 children, 1 in graduate school and 2 in college. Miss Cathy keeps herself fit by walking and going to the gym. She will often walk for miles.

Donna Dabrowski, Teacher Aide and 2yr old class teacher

Mrs. D'Abrowski has worked at Wesleyan since 2007. She has 2 children who are Wesleyan School graduates and attend Smithtown schools. Donna graduated from Queens College with a degree in accounting. She worked in accounting until she had her family. We are pleased to welcome Donna to our teaching staff. Donna has substituted at Wesleyan and works as an aide. She also helps prepare projects and assist the teachers. Donna has taught dance at a dance studio in Setauket for the past 20 years and also is a very talented dancer. She is currently pursuing graduate classes in education.

Susan DiBlasio, Teacher

Miss Susan has been working at Wesleyan since 2015. She graduated from SUNY Binghamton and received her graduate degree from the University of Massachusetts. She is a certified speech teacher. Prior to working at Wesleyan she worked as a speech therapist at DDI and the Parkinson’s Therapy Center. Miss Susan has a daughter attending college and 2 other children attending Smithtown West.

Loren Nicolosi, Teacher aide and 2 year old teacher

Miss Loren joined the Wesleyan staff in 2015. She received her bachelors degree from Queens college. Prior to working at Wesleyan Loren worked at CBS News in NYC and Mt Pleasant Elementary School. Miss Loren has a daughter who attended Wesleyan and is now a junior at Smithtown East.
